The History of Our Bank In 1838, the Federal Government forced the Nadarko tribe, along with the Caddos and Inneys from the area currently known as Louisiana to an area called the "Dominion of Mexico." In 1859 they were again forced to move to the home of the Wichita and Comanche tribes where, in 1875, a post office was christened in honor of the ancient tribe. However, the tribe's name was misspelled on its government charter, thus resulting in the current name of the town Anadarko.
