ABOUT AVANCEN AVANCEN was founded by Sharon Conley, a PhD Biochemist and MD Oncologist who had a mission of improving patient care at the bedside. As a physician, Conley was keenly aware of the need for better pain management systems and set her sights on finding a better way. Her solution: Medication on Demand (MOD®) - the "world's first" oral PCA (Patient Controlled Analgesia). She filed for multiple patents on the device in 2002 and in 2005, AVANCEN LLC was formed.
