- Background
- The Regional Economic Policy Support Facility (REPSF) is the first component of the ASEAN-Australia Development Cooperation Program (AADCP) to be established. The AADCP aims to promote sustainable development within ASEAN, by assisting ASEAN tackle priority regional development challenges, through regional cooperation. Specific objectives of the program are:
- To strengthen regional economic and social cooperation (including macro-economic and financial cooperation, economic integration, social policy formulation and systems, AFTA-CER and other international trade linkages)
- The main objective of the REPSF is to strengthen the capacity of the ASEAN Secretariat in carrying out its official function of providing high quality policy analysis to ASEAN on short and long term regional economic issues. It also endeavours to strengthen the regional linkages between the ASEAN Secretariat and economic policy research entities within ASEAN and Australia.
