My first attempts at blogging happened in July 2003. Rediff.com had just started their own blogging service, rediffblogs. After using rediffblogs for more than an year, I opened my own blog because I wanted a high level of customisation, which I could not get anywhere. Add to it, I had always wanted to write and “The Times of India”(TOI), the famous daily had outrightly rejected my freelancing attempts, driving the desperation to an edge. At that time, I wished I could write for TOI. Of course, it is an altogether different topic, of what crap TOI has transformed itself into now. But back then, Blogging came as a respite.
