Affirmation: Gay and Lesbian Mormons is a non-profit organization serving gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, and intersexed Mormons, their families, and friends since 1977. Current membership numbers are around 500, and there are chapters across North America, South America, Europe, and Australia. The Washington DC chapter of Affirmation has been active since 1982 and currently has around 25 active members, and many more less active.
