Nobody sets out to deal with alcoholism. People don't just decide to abuse alcohol. Being a "problem drinker" is not on the list of things to accomplish. Some people may try a drink for the first time, just to party or be a part of the crowd. Some people might turn to drinking to “drown their sorrows.” Many kids go to college and learn to "binge drink" with their friends. Whatever the case, people certainly do not expect the misery that comes with addiction.
