- The American Medical Writers Association (AMWA), founded in 1940, is a nonprofit organization of medical communication professionals located worldwide. The Rocky Mountain Chapter has more than 100 members throughout Colorado, Wyoming, and Utah. We have regular meetings and social gatherings to give members an opportunity to network with other professionals. We also feature guest speakers on topics of interest to our members.
