- When I was a child we recycled aluminum cans for extra spending money. The fact that it was good for the planet was just a bonus. As far as we knew, our planet and it’s water supply and ozone layer would last forever if we threw a brick in the toilet and used roll-on deodorant. My parents reduced, reused and recycled to save money - not the planet.
