Preserve Tibetan culture educate children and sponsor a Tibetan child from Kailash region of Nepal. Antahkarana Society International a 501(c)3 charity was founded in 2004 by Deanna Campbell and Khenpo Tashi Kailash to preserve and advance Tibetan culture in the northwest Himalayan region of Nepal near Mount Kailash. The work is focused on education and local empowerment through a model of Village Owned Schools (VOS). Local people are closely involved in the planning and execution of Antahkarana projects. To date three village schools have been established and a hostel in Kathmandu built to care for sponsored children enrolled in Namghal Middle School. Staff are entirely local Tibetans. Activities are carried out by Tibetan staff and are overseen by the founders. Hundreds of people are served through Antahkarana projects. The organization relies on charitable donations and sponsorships to fund its projects.
