I've been asked to do an exclusive review of Af Noctum's album - to be issued by an as yet undisclosed label in 2007, and obviously on an undisclosed date. Album's entitled Arrogance, and I'm thrilled to be the first critique to pen a few words about such a product, primarily because I've been searching for a high quality black metal release to emerge from Danish soil for years.
The fertile breeding ground was already present on Ad Noctum's 2004 collection of demos, the limited The Excellence of Supremacy, but Arrogance is the epitome of a strong production alongside a vibrant hybrid between old-school virtues and modern aesthetics.
