Arcadia Holiday House
Description
Excerpted from the website:
- This property was once part of Montfort, the farm seen from the dining room and kitchen windows of Arcadia Holiday House. It was built (along with No. 5 North Street) for farm workers in the 1970s and sold to the Lockerbies in 1990 when wool prices plummeted. They named the property Lockhaven. Richard Lockerbie was an avid gardener who established the entire garden from scratch. By 2005, Richard and his wife Beulah decided that it was time to return to NSW and reluctantly put the property on the market. The current owners were staying at McCauley's Cottage at the time and couldn't resist the serenity and beauty of 3 North Street, especially the garden, and the view of the valley across the peppermint field.
