- MOSCOW - About 50 gunmen have surrendered to federal law-enforcement officers in Chechnya in a North Caucasus amnesty, a regional Interior Ministry official said Monday.
- “A total of 46 former members of illegal armed groups reported themselves to the police in the last two weeks to lay down arms,” Magomed Deniyev said, adding that 13 gunmen had surrendered during the weekend, handing their weapons to police, including three grenade launchers, hand grenades, an assault rifle, and a gun.
