Description
The single most fun and interesting event of the entire weekend (2004 Arnold Classic) was Roger LaPointe's Night of Strength II. Taking place after Expo hours across the street from the Convention Center in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, this was a great informal gathering of strength athletes, grip masters, guys who bend steel rods, lift big stones, make odd lifts... in other words, throwbacks to the beginning days of organized weightlifting competition."
Roger LaPointe is an avid weightlifter who has competed in Olympic style weightlifting for many years. Roger was previously the VP Sales and Marketing of Nebula Fitness Equipment, the International Sales Manager and Olympic Lifting Advisor for YORK Barbell as well as a commercial gym equipment consultant. Roger’s interviews of Norbert Schemansky have been published in World Weightlifting Magazine.
