Description
The College Republicans are American University's premiere conservative group on campus. With over 600 members, CR members travel across the country to campaign for Republican candidates. We work hard to bring speakers such as Christian Hoff Sommers, New York Governor George Pataki and former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer to campus. The College Republicans regularly beat the College Democrats in friendly games of ping-pong, kickball, and paintball. (Note to freshman: We need better dodgeball and basketball players). In campus media, we regularly write for The Eagle and have two columnists on the editorial page. In the big media, over the past year, Nightline, MTV and the Washington Post have all interviewed AUCRs. (To our international conservative friends, we've also been interviewed by Japanese TV and the BBC). We even had a barbeque on the quad last year as a part of the "Carnivore Initiative." As freshman and new students will soon see, the AUCRs represent the best and the brightest of the campus conservative movement.
