Founded in 1999, Aviagraf was started quite by accident. A small local charter airline in Alberta, Canada needed new Passenger Safety Briefing Cards to be in compliance with new government regulations. At the request of a pilot friend who flew for the airline, Aviagraf created its first Passenger Safety Features Card. The layout and design of the cards received praise from Transport Canada inspectors.
In an effort to build a better mousetrap, Aviagraf searched for better graphic alternatives to the traditional illustrated line drawings that dominate the Safety Features Card industry. Noting the realism that 3D graphics have achieved, various hi-end graphics applications were selected and merged together to form the basis for creating the perfect graphics for Safety Features Cards. The resulting graphics combine the realism of photographs with vastly improved clarity over industry standard line drawings, and provide a fresh new hi-tech look to a relatively unchanged product.
