AZTECANA was founded in 1989 by Joan and Donald Caskie. We crossed a Quarter Horse mare with Negrito, a Lusitano stallion, in order to produce a high performance horse with personality, style and agility. We learned that the name of this cross was an Azteca, a breed created in 1972 in Mexico. We contacted Don Antonio Ariza Canadilla in Mexico for more information.
