Title

Washington Bach Consort

Description

For more than a quarter century, the Washington Bach Consort has been unwaveringly committed to the study and performance of the miraculous vocal and instrumental works of Johann Sebastian Bach and his Baroque contemporaries. Each season for the Washington Bach Consort brings new enlightenment in our journey to embrace and celebrate the Baroque movement and the genius of its clear master, Johann Sebastian Bach. We perform a minimum of five subscription series concerts per season in area churches and concert halls such as the Kennedy Center and the Washington National Cathedral, and the Consort has also produced professional recordings for public sale .

The Consort’s professional chorus of 24 singers and orchestra specializing in 18th century music have appeared with such organizations as the National Symphony Orchestra, the Mark Morris Dance Company, the Washington Chamber Orchestra and the Washington National Cathedral Choral Society.

The Washington Bach Consort strives to make music education programs a key part of our on-going mission. Through far-reaching programs like the Bach to School outreach program to elementary school children and our Tuesday Noontime Cantata series, the Consort continues to be a major force in the National Capital region for bringing Bach and Baroque music to the community at large. During our most recent season, our concert events and public outreach programs touched more than 15,000 Greater Washingtonians of all ages.
