Here at Bay Area Biofuel that is precisely what we do when we collect waste restaurant vegetable oil and process it to create a renewable plant-based fuel which is good for the environment and good for the local economy. Our biodiesel is a renewable fuel which can power existing diesel engines without modification. We are working to create a sustainable future where the demands of modern culture are met in concert with the wisdom to preserve a world and environment worth living in.
Our business model hinges on a flexible, decentralized structural format. The creation of multiple production facilities which can be deployed strategically over both concentrated urban areas satisfies several chief aims of our enterprise. By setting up smaller scale facilities we can be more responsive to our restaurant entrepreneurs individual needs as we simultaneously provide greater accessibility to end-fuel users. Our organizational philosophy of smaller-scale facilities generates much needed job creation at the microeconomic neighborhood level. This builds community-based economic activity and reduces inefficiency. People matter. Small puts more hands on the plow, and that is good in an economic climate that has forgotten that large scale fully automated production is ultimately unsustainable. Thinking small is serious business, reducing time and revenue loss attributed to excessive transportation. Decentralized collection and processing promotes the possibility of taking advantage of underutilized existing light industrial square footage in this age of aggressive consolidation of production. People are realizing that we need to take responsibility for the true costs of runaway energy use. By producing biodiesel from recycled kitchen grease here at home we are improving the drive for average folks and easing the burden we place on a finite ecosystem.
Bay Area Biofuel is now headquartered at the Richmond production facility. We are currently evaluating opportunities throughout the west for plant locations in addition to our production and operations facility here in Richmond, CA.
