The British Columbia Golf Association as it exists today was formally established on October 1, 2004 following the amalgamation of the British Columbia Ladies Golf Association (BCLGA) and the British Columbia Golf Association (BCGA). The BCGA is the governing body of amateur golf in British Columbia and functions for the benefit of all golfers in the Province. Through its affiliation with the Royal Canadian Golf Association, (RCGA) the Association is also involved in National golf affairs.
