BID4ASSETS® was inspired by a real world auction experience. In February 1999 the company's founders were bidding on a $5 million building at a traditional auction on the COURTHOUSE STEPS® in Baltimore. For two hours, nearly a hundred investors stood shivering in the cold and snow with cashier's checks in hand. Our founders imagined a better way to auction high-value assets: the Internet. Bid4Assets was incorporated that week, and in November 1999 bid4assets.com was launched.
