- Big Giant Circles (a.k.a. ”BGC”) is a “one-man-band” composed of Jimmy Hinson, of Knoxville, TN. Beginning early with 8 years of piano lessons starting at age 5, then later picking up the ways of the acoustic guitar (self-taught, like most guitarists these days), and always feeding an interest in music composition and arrangement eventually led to the exploration of his songwriting abilities. Thus, some time around the 1998ish period, the first song, a simple acoustic bit with some underlying string arrangement called “Lost Identity” came into existence. From there, and with a number of influences (usually with a strong acoustic guitar structure) such as the Goo Goo Dolls, Dave Mathews, Tonic, Vertical Horizon, and others, a number of tunes followed for the next few years until sometime in early 2004 when Jimmy put his guitar aside temporarily to explore the realm of digital music.
