Binaural Studios online mixing and mastering studio based in London

Description

Excerpted from the website description: We at Binaural Studios specialize in mixing and mastering but with a slight difference. Binaural Studios have decided to take advantage of this great invention called the Internet and to operate solely online. But why would you get your tracks mixed and mastered online, I hear you say. Well, there are many advantages for you to get them mixed and mastered online. By operating online we are able to cut down our cost and continue to provide excellent quality of mixing and mastering at affordable rates rates. Secondly, we will also be able to spend much more time mixing and mastering your tracks than if you were in a studio and actually attending the session. We’ll be able to start mixing and mastering your tracks pretty much immediately instead of you having to wait a couple of weeks before there’s a free booking. You won’t have to worry about taking a day off work, simply send us your tracks and we will take care of everything. It’s a very simple process that works via FTP (file transfer protocol). You will be given a unique username and password; which will give you instant access to your very own folder. From there you will be able to upload your tracks and then simply download the mixed and mastered version a few days later. It really is that simple.

Additional Information

The importance of mixing and mastering Many people underestimate the importance of mixing and mastering but these are two very crucial stages. The mixing process is what will give your track it’s own identity, character and attract people’s attention. Simply put, our job is to balance the various levels, adjust the frequencies and dynamic content of the tracks. We do this by using various implements such as compression, gates, EQ and many other effects. The mastering process is where we look at the dynamic content and the sound of the track as a whole; this will prepare your tracks to be played on any sound system and on the radio.

How we differ Unlike many studios that do what we call “in the box mixing” which is only using computer software, we like to incorporate high quality hardware to our Pro tools and Logic Pro system, therefore we have the best of both worlds. Computer software has many advantages but also many disadvantages. Tracks mixed entirely on computers come out sounding very thin and weak, unlike a commercial album produced in a big studio. By incorporating this hardware to our Pro tools system we are able to offer the same quality of mixing and mastering as big studios but at a much more affordable rate. If you require any more information please do not hesitate to contact us via our contact page.

TL Audio 5001 Quad valve pre-amp

Both these products are well built, clearly set out and easy to use, and both treat the signal being processed with respect. The mic amps are about as good as you'd expect to get in a good mixing console, but because you can patch them directly into your recorder, the resulting signal is likely to be cleaner, as you cut out all that unnecessary routing through a mixer

Avalon class A 2044 stereo compressor

"I must tell you that the sound of my AD2044 is spectacular - drop dead quiet, absolutely transparent, and full frequency response even during heavy squeezing." - Jim B., IA "The AD2044 does simply amazing things for vocals and bass guitar as well as across the stereo buss. It can also warm things up if pushed a bit harder. If you can only own one analog compressor, I don't think anyone can possibly go wrong choosing this one!" - Bob S., NY "The AD2044 is my favorite for vocals, bass, acoustic piano, and across the mix buss. It is the most musical and transparent compressor I have ever heard." - Rob C., CA
