Bookscene.ca is Canada's NEW members-only online bookstore. Bookscene.ca is brought to you by Doubleday Canada. At bookscene.ca, you'll find the same variety of titles as you would at the big retail bookstores; the difference is our prices. Our standard, ongoing discount is 50% off Publishers' Edition prices.
Who are we?
bookscene.ca is a members-only online bookstore. For a one-time membership fee of $4.99*, currently being waived, you get unlimited access to deeply discounted BRAND NEW BOOKS—including pre-orders, new releases, bestsellers, classics, hardcover and paperback in every conceivable genre, plus a wide range of children's books and large-print books. We also sell DVDs and CDs.

How does it work?
As a member, you agree to buy at least 3 books (priced from $5.98 and up) any time during your first year of membership. After your first year of membership, the same rule applies: all you need to do is purchase at least 3 books (priced from $5.98 and up) for each subsequent year you choose to shop at bookscene.ca.

What are Premium Titles?
While the majority of titles at bookscene.ca are 50% OFF publisher’s edition prices, we also carry Premium Titles—books that are competitively priced based on their unit cost as well as exclusive hardcover or large-print editions of your favourite books. Rest assured, you will still enjoy substantial savings on all Premium Titles.
Why are the book prices so low?
It's your commitment to purchase 3 books per year that enables us to obtain exceptionally cost-effective contracts with our publishers. We pass those savings on to you!
What about the selection?
bookscene.ca offers a spectacular selection—currently over 6,000 books, with new titles added regularly. (Please note: all bookscene.ca titles are full-length hardcover editions unless otherwise noted; they may be altered in size.)
How much is shipping & handling?
Pre-orders always get FREE shipping & handling! Otherwise, regular shipping & handling is $2.99 per book/DVD/CD for orders up to 3 items. Orders of 4 or more items get a flat rate of $11.99. Or, spend $39 and save even more! Every book/DVD/CD order totalling at least $39.00 (before tax) will always get FREE shipping & handling!
Is bookscene.ca the same as Doubleday Book Clubs of Canada?
No. Even though they’re both part of the same company, Doubleday Canada Ltd operates a separate set of mail-order book clubs, each with its own rules and special discounts. The main difference is this: members of Doubleday Book Clubs of Canada are automatically sent (and billed for) a monthly “Featured Selection” unless they decline it in advance. Members of bookscene.ca will never be sent, or billed for, any product that they did not explicitly order.
