Boy Scout 5K Run/Walk
Description
The race is organized by the Three Rivers District in the DEL-MAR-VA Council, Boy Scouts of America to raise money through the Friends of Scouting campaign. Primus Poppiti is the Race Director. The Race Committee consists of Bob Buckley, Derrick Lightfoot, Terri Millis, Bob Murray, and Todd Stephan.
The Three Rivers District encompasses the City of Wilmington, City of New Castle, and the towns of Bear, St. George, Odessa, Townsend, and Middletown. Our "Key Three" are Bob Buckley, Sr. District Executive; Vacant, District Chairman; and Bob Murray, District Commissioner.
The DEL-MAR-VA Council serves over 20,000 youth (boys and girls) in the State of Delaware and the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Virginia. Over 9,000 men and women server as adult volunteers. The Council's revenue sources include United Way, Friends of Scouting, project sales, special events, and bequests, trust funds and endowments. We use this money to organize units, train leaders, maintain and operate two Scout camps, as well as the Scout Service Center, and provide professional staff supervision.
