One of the recurring gags in the old Rocky & Bullwinkle Show featured Bullwinkle trying to perform a classic magician’s trick. “Hey, Rocky,” Bullwinkle would say, “Watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.” Of course, Bullwinkle never pulled out a rabbit. It was usually a tiger, elephant, or rhino; which is really more impressive and noteworthy than a silly rabbit. In fact, I think Bullwinkle’s mistake really should be our goal as business communicators.
