Hello my name is Captain Dave Steeves. I am one of the very few who can honestly say I love my job! I was born and raised in Rochester, New York. My house was located on a tributary of Lake Ontario. I started fishing when I was 6 years old and spent most of my childhood fishing for salmon, steelhead and brown trout.
I have been an Orvis endorsed fishing guide on Cape Cod for ten years and I enjoy every minute of it! Although I enjoy all types of fishing, I would have to say my favorite is sight fishing for stripers on the flats. I also enjoy traveling to the Florida Everglades during my off-season to fish for snook, redfish and tarpon. My one wish in life would be to travel and fish for bonefish and permit. My greatest accomplishment as a fishing guide was guiding the same client to two world records on the fly.
Over the years, I have had the opportunity to fish with a lot of great people. I've acquired new friendships and look forward to establishing more. The beauty of this occupation is the ability to live your passion and share it with others.
