About the Cruise
The 2004 PokerStars Caribbean Poker Adventure was hosted aboard Royal Caribbean's Voyager of the Seas luxury cruise ship. This beautiful ship provided the perfect setting for almost 600 PokerStars players and staff to hold a high-seas poker tournament second to none.
This year's cruise set sail from Miami, Florida to the tropical beaches of Jamaica, Mexico and the Grand Cayman Islands. Everyone aboard received the five-star Royal Caribbean Cruise treatment, which featured a spectacular three-story fine dining room, a world-class nightclub, a Main Street mall and even an ice skating rink in the heart of the ship.
With an $8,000 buy-in for the tournament, the majority of the players won their seats through satellite events on PokerStars.com. A number of players won tournament entries by competing in satellite tournaments that cost less than what they would have paid for a movie ticket.
