The Monastery of the Holy Cross is a contemplative Roman Catholic monastery following the Rule of Saint Benedict. We live a traditional life of ora et labora (prayer and work), alternating periods of communal and private prayer with manual labor. We serve the Church in a distinctive way by offering this witness in the heart of the modern city of Chicago.
