Description
I, Errin Evans, decided to create Wild Chickadee Adventures after years of being dragged along behind the 'guys'. Not being an adrenaline junky I tolerated running difficult rivers and being far behind the rest of the group. I decided there was a need to get more women involved in the activities that I enjoyed so there would more people with the same interests that I have. On the river I'm usually examining the geomorphology, not trying to get thrashed in the biggest rapid on the river. Though, whitewater kayaking ha s an 'extreme' reputation, it is possible to choose routes on the river that will not be death defying or dangerous. If you have ever been remotely interested in exploring rivers but believed that you were not up to it then Wild Chickadee Adventures is for you. Also, if you have paddled before but want to further develop your skills I can accommodate you.
Errin Evans has been coaching and instructing for over eight years. She is on the Canadian Ski Patrol and involved with Search and Rescue. Errin's certifications include: B.Sc. in Environmental Planning, Whitewater Kayak Instructor, Swiftwater Rescue Technician, Search & Rescue Rope Team Member, CANSI Downhill Ski Instructor, and up to date first aid skills. She is an avid kayaker, skier, caver, climber and mountain biker.
