Description
The Faye Richwhite Corporate teams triathlon held at the Hillarys Boat Harbour (March 92) saw the first R&I Bank Teams complete their first triathlons, the following year saw seven teams enter under the Tri R&I banner. This was the beginning of City Tri Club. In an attempt to attract more regular attendees at triathlons, it was decided the Tri R&I name had to be replaced. After an exhaustive process, it was voted in that City Tri Club would be the new name, as it symbolized the catchment area of where the training venues would be based. At this time WATA was holding a training course for women wishing to compete in the Women�s Only Tri at Matilda Bay.
Over a 4-8 week period club coaches were appointed & the original sponsors of Running Styles, Bike Force Morley & Cisco�s Mexican Restaurant had been written to & sponsorship details were finalized. The City Tri Club was probably the first club to boast such support by way of the sponsorship structure & this hasn�t changed throughout the history of the club, with some of the original sponsors still with the Club today.
City is lucky to have some of the top triathlon coaches & they cater for all levels from the Novice to the Elite, junior through veteran athlete. They are there to help you achieve your goals.
