ClydesdaleUK is non-profit organisation in its infancy. We have the full support of the world weight class competition organisation TeamClydesdale based in the USA but we have full autonomy to work for the acceptance of ClydesdaleUK as the recognised national governing body for Clydesdale competition in the British Isles.
ClydesdaleUK is a non-profit organisation like other Olympic Federations that promotes camaraderie and/or competition amongst larger built athletes. The vision is to be the national governing body representing the athletic competition interests of large athletes by creating and enforcing standards, offering events and programs that help unify like-sized athletes and to work within the global community to encourage international competition.
Competitive sports in the UK are aimed at the elite or age group athlete and the only incentive for effort from the larger athlete is individual improvement - you against you. If you are 16 stone it is unlikely that you will get near the 10 stone athletes when it's time to hand out the awards.
