Description
The company formerly known as Carson's Construction Limited, started as a joint venture in November 1980 between Carson Cumberbatch & Co. Ltd and the Edwards Brothers Group of New Zealand, primarily to undertake down stream development, land preparation work and earth moving operations using heavy machinery in various construction projects under the Accelerated Mahaweli Development Programme, the most ambitious and largest ever development programme launched in Sri Lanka.
Following a management buyout of shares owned by Carson Cumberbatch & Co. Ltd, the company changed its name to "CML Edwards Construction Ltd” in April 1993.
With the extensive experience gained by successful completion of several construction contracts during the last two decades, the company has also been able to undertake construction contracts involving earth works as well as structural concrete works for the Mahaweli Authority of Sri Lanka, Road Development Authority, Urban Development Authority, and Irrigation Department of Sri Lanka.
