About Philip Taylor, Ph.D.

Philip Taylor was born in Cape Town, South Africa. He was a law student and articled clerk living under apartheid rule. In 1970 he moved to Montreal, Quebec, Canada, to further his education.

He is the father of four children.

He has been a certified teacher since 1975 having graduated with a B.Ed. in Elementary Education from Queen's University, Kingston, ON. In 1978 he also attained a Certificate in Special Education and in 1995, a M.A. from McGill University in 1995 in administration and policy studies in education and in 2002 attained a Ph.D. degree from McGill University in Culture and Values in Education.

Since 1975 he has worked for the School boards of Montreal and the Gaspé. In 2000 he taught at Westmount High School in English Language Arts and Moral Education. He was a research fellow at McGill University's Centre for Developing Area Studies (CDAS) in 2004. He has also worked in fields of law, business, and volunteer associations.
