Company Background. Pieter Verhoeven, a Dutch national, founded Coolrain Sawmills Ltd in 1984. The company is currently managed by Declan Hutchinson, a Forestry Graduate.
Production at the plant has increased by 20 % over the last year. This has been primarily due to the introduction of a new sawing line in August of 1998. The company's aim is to continually improve our efficiency; therefore in June 2001 a continuation of the new line was put in place allowing more flexibility and choice for our extensive customer base. Increased added value continues to be a priority and to this end the company is embarking on a wide ranging 3 year R&D programme. It is hoped that this programme along with increased efficiency will position Coolrain Sawmills for continued success in the future.
