Jazz Pianist performing regularly in Chicagoland area since the 1960's. Succeeded Herbie Hancock in Chicago's Hyde Park High School. Pianist with mentor Von Freeman Quartet. Appearances include Corky McClerkin Trio, Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Chicago(1983-1986),Westin Hotel,Singapore (1986),Drake Hotel,Chicago,(1987-1995). Resident Pianist, Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel,Chicago,(1997-2005). Semifinalist winner in 1996 Best Jazz Trio, sponsered by BET (Black Entertainment Television).Performed with Sonny Stitt,Eddie(Lockjaw)Davis, Jack DeJohnette, Linda Hopkins,Earnestine Anderson,and Dee Dee Bridgewater. Festival appearances for Corky McClerkin Ensemble include Chicago South Shore Jazz Festival,(1983, 1996), Corky McClerkin Trio, Caznovia New York Jazz Festival,(2004) and Corky McClerkin/Henry Butler Piano Duet, Caznovia New York Jazz Festival, (2005).

In 1978, Korwin Enterprises published Corky's first Book entitled UNDERCURRENTS, a satirical look at the gains of African Americans, as told through nine short stories.
