Over 15 years ago, Larry Russell began using solid plastic crappie jigs. He continued using them because they were life-like, yet extremely durable. The baits Larry used caught fish, lots of them, and did not have to be replaced frequently. While Larry enjoyed the benefits of using solid crappie jigs, he also knew that they were hard to come by and sought a way to make them more readily accessible. In the latter part of 1996, Larry began warehousing solid plastic baits for a high-quality bait manufacturer and Crappie Pro was born. He founded his operation in Oklahoma City, OK but has since expanded to a facility at Lake Eufaula also. Now in their 6th year as Crappie Pro owners, Larry and Janice Russell are watching their business flourish behind the popularity of solid plastic baits. Larry, now 54 years old, fishes two to three times per week and personally field-tests all of the products that he sells.
