The Coalition of Voluntary Mental Health Agencies, Inc. is the umbrella advocacy organization of New York’s mental health community, representing over 100 non-profit community based mental health agencies that serve more than 300,000 clients in the five boroughs of New York City and its environs. Founded in 1972, The Coalition is membership supported along with foundation and government funding for special purpose advocacy and assistance projects.
Research and Information--Gathering of facts and figures which inform our policy positions and offering credible recommendations to legislators and regulators.
Project-Specific Activities-Includes the The Coalition's Center for Rehabilitation and Recovery designed to promote rehabilitation and recovery opportunities for recipients of New York City mental health services and assistance to providers and organizations.
