Since July 1996 DataDot Technology (Australia) Pty Ltd, formerly National Personal Valuables Register - trading as Identify Australia Pty Ltd, has been working with insurers and law enforcement agencies around Australia and overseas, studying many industries suffering from the ever increasing cost of crime.
Our focus on the beneficial impact of improved identification technologies and the ease of application to high risk goods has already gained acceptance in a number of target markets. For example, in the motor vehicle industry DataDot Technology’s “VIN Dot” spray application has already been described as a “world best practice for vehicle identification” and is expected to accelerate industry support by manufacturers to introduce component identification solutions as a standard security feature on their motor vehicles. Australia is leading the world with nine manufacturers / importer distributors committed to applying DataDot VIN Dots to new vehicles. They include, BMW, Mini, Porsche, Holden Special Vehicles (HSV), Ford Performance Vehicles (FPV), Tickford, Mitsubishi, Ralliart, and Subaru. The system has revolutionised attitudes on security marking as for the first time economic and effective saturation marking of VIN has come within the reach of manufacturers.The system is also available for used cars through authorised motor vehicle dealers.
