History
The Days Inn brand was created by Cecil B Day in 1970, when the lodging industry comprised of just a dozen national brands.
Cecil's Atlanta-based company, Days lnns of America lnc., began franchising in 1972 and within eight years created a system of more than 300 hotels in the US and Canada. In 1992 Cendant Corporation, formerly HFS Inc., acquired the company.
Days Inn, launched in the UK in 1998, are budget hotels typically found on UK motorway routes and in city and town centres. They have a choice of room types, continental breakfast, 24-hour reception and limited meeting facilities. Bedrooms are equipped to a high standard.
