Title

Masonry & Brickwork - Residential, Commercial - Specializing in Historic Restorations

Description

Tom began his masonry career in 1975 and built his first two-story full brick home with a fireplace at the age of 18.

In 1990, George White, then the Architect of the U.S. Capitol, recruited Tom to run a masonry crew, rebuilding and restoring various projects in the Capitol and Senate office buildings. Now retired, White still hires Tom exclusively to work on his personal properties, calling his work "far superior in craftsmanship, artistry, and attention to detail."

During his tenure at the U.S. Capitol, Tom began taking evening and weekend jobs on Capitol Hill doing specialized repairs and renovations on historic homes. To supplement his extensive masonry skills, Tom began to travel more widely, studying European designs and applications in Ireland, the Czech Republic, and Germany.
