Who are we? The DCBU is a federally-recognized 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting and promoting the Bluegrass music scene in the Washington DC and surrounding areas, (South to Fredericksburg, VA, North to So. PA, West to Shepherstown, WV and East to the Eastern shores of Maryland & So. Delaware). This area is arguably THE most active, creative, and productive Bluegrass community in the world.
The DC Bluegrass Union hopes to represent the DC Bluegrass community as its single voice, serving as THE premier steward of Bluegrass music in the extended DC region--and beyond--through the support and promotion of its bands, venues, supporters, events, and activities.
assist and enhance the efforts of any DC regional Bluegrass-related venture, including; other acoustic music organizations, the media (radio, print, web, and TV), concerts, jams, retailers, performers, etc.
