Title

Deadwood, Texas: Corporate Retreats, Hunting, Fishing

Description

A descendent of the original settlers of the ranch in 1832, Clayton grew up on the ranch and at an early age began helping herd the cattle, fix the fences, and otherwise keep the enterprise going. He attended Carthage High School, Texas A&M and the University of Texas Law School. After a career as a corporate attorney, Clayton returned to the family ranch. While the property is still a working ranch, he felt it was the perfect escape from high pressure jobs and confining urban existence which he had experienced during his career. For that reason and to generate sufficient funds to make sure that the ranch remained in the family, Clayton is developing the ranch for rural recreation and tourism purposes.

Deadwood Land & Cattle Co. was featured in the Texas A&M Fall 2002 Lifescapes Magazine. To read the article titled "Rat Race Escape," click on the photo above.

Sharing Clayton's passion to offer an urban escape, his wife, Sidna, manages the ranch's financial affairs. She was born in Pearsall, Texas and reared in Corpus Christi. With a Bachelors degree in Accounting from the University of Texas and a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Tulsa, Sidna is well qualified to keep the ranch's finances running smoothly.
