Dhuusamareeb.com is a new portal for the ambitious Galgaduud Development project.
Dhuusamreeb.com is ran from [Minneapolis], home to a large Somali community. It is objective is to primarily organize and mobilize Galgaduud Diaspora community to initiate development projects. There is a large Diaspora community from this central region of Somalia. Even though, it is difficult to know exactly the number of the people living abroad, who hail from the region, estimates suggest a number above ten thousand. Some of the projects GDP wants to implement are to:
Construct wind turbines and solar panels, dig wells, build clinics, and build fishery and milk factories in the region. The GDP will raise funds for these projects within the community. It will also solicit foreign investment for mineral and oil exploitation projects provided the political situation of the country stabilizes.
