DICA was founded in 1988 as a family business, with the name DICA created from the first 2 letters of the founders first names, Dick and Carolyn.
Thus, with many customers and contacts from previous employment and a lot of faith, DICA started as an independent manufacturers representative company, representing multiple manufacturers desirable to the utility fleet customer. We also had dreams of fulfilling a challenge received from a fleet manager some years earlier, which was:
DICA took the challenge and committed to a lifelong mission to build the finest, affordable outrigger pad ever developed, for this very essential piece of equipment. All could agree that the outrigger pad was the very foundation and a must for safety and load distribution, for any quality set-up of sophisticated equipment requiring outriggers. However, then as now, there was no regulatory authority or organization stipulating or governing the use of an outrigger pad, or what size it should be if you used one.
