DrHull.com counselling parents of newborns to avoid later sleep problems

Title

Help for Parents of Babies and Toddlers with Sleep Problems

Description

Jeffrey W. Hull, M.D., F.A.A.P. is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Besides offering general pediatric care, Dr. Hull has long had special interests in counselling parents of newborns to avoid later sleep problems and in working with parents to solve their older children's sleep problems. This video is the product of years of study, reflection, and listening to parents to find out what really works, for real parents in real households. It is a common sense approach based on fundamental understanding of normal infant developmental stages and normal maternal responses. His methods stress gradual retraining of sleep habits without sudden and stressful changes in routine.

Dr. Hull is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He completed internship and residency training in pediatrics at the Child Health Center, UTMB Galveston, and served for an additional year on the faculty as Chief Resident in Pediatrics. Following that time he served for three years as a U.S. Navy pediatrician at the Naval Regional Medical Center, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, before entering private pediatric practice. He and his wife Deborah have four sons, ages 16 through 21.

Dr. Hull has lectured physician groups on antibiotic use, and in late 2001 had his article on "Failure to Thrive," published in the college-level textbook Child Development in the Macmillan Psychology Reference Series.
