Kenneth H. Yuska, M.D. currently performs bone and joint surgery at Meriter Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin and at Columbus Community Hospital in Columbus, Wisconsin.
Dr. Yuska has practiced orthopedic surgery in Wisconsin since 1978, when he settled in Marinette. He opened a practice serving Marinette General Hospital and Menominee County Lloyd Hospital, which later merged to become Bay Area Medical Center. This practice centered on traumatic injuries and included a variety of orthopedic procedures. During this period, Dr. Yuska established an arthroscopic (minimally invasive) knee surgery program at Bay Area Medical Center. He also performed the first total hip and knee surgeries in the area, and served patients with work-related injuries and those needing back surgery.
Moving to Madison in 1992, Dr. Yuska partnered with Bone and Joint Surgery Associates until 1998. This practice centered on Meriter Hospital and Columbus Community Hospital. The needs of the patients were the same in many ways, yet this period allowed Dr. Yuska to learn to use a surgical microscope when performing lumbar disc surgery. Using this microscope allows for smaller incisions, more precision and a quicker recovery for the surgical patient.
