Most people don’t recognize that our day is full of numbers we all have to deal with. Here is an example from an ordinary day in my life:
When I wake up, I go to the newsstand and buy a newspaper for a dollar and 20 cents. The date is November 26th, 2005. As always, I look for page 23 containing the movie news, at page 2 there is an interesting article dealing with multi million budget scandals in the transport ministry, at page 17 I read that my stocks has lost 2 % since yesterday, and finally I check the nine lottery numbers. The time is now 7:30 AM, and we have already been confronted with a lot of numbers. This goes on until we go to sleep.
We constantly analyse and use numbers and mathematical formulas all day without even thinking about it, as most people have taught to face the world of math and numbers from early childhood.
