Originally constructed in the 1920’s from hand-hewn logs, the Eaglecrest clubhouse is a remarkable building to this day. With many old photos lining the hallways, banquet room and common areas, Eaglecrest has a rich history right down to the pre-requisite royal visit, having hosted Princess Elizabeth, now Queen of England, and her husband, Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.
With views over Georgia Strait and the Coastal mountains, Eaglecrest takes its name from the majestic birds that can frequently be seen in the area. Having matured since an ambitious tree planting program was undertaken in the early 1990’s, the golf course has developed nicely since that time. Each hole is unique, with distinctive trees and foliage on every fairway. The first three holes have a links-style feel, while the middle nine meander through fir and cedar-lined fairways. The final six holes provide the conclusive test, not the least of which are the par-five 14th, lined by lakes on either side, with a notorious pot bunker guarding the large green, and the 400 yard 17th, with its narrow landing area, gaping greenside bunker and slippery four-tiered narrow green.
