EC²’s philosophy is simple: facilitate direct and constructive communication between parents and school districts that focuses on the child’s needs and works to provide that child with an opportunity for success within the current legal framework. Nancy Huerta, Esq., founder, and owner of EC², has practiced special education law since 1994. She is an honors graduate of Harvard University and the University of Chicago Law School and is currently completing her Master’s in special education with an emphasis on behavior disorders and autism at the University of Kansas. Ms. Huerta recently co-authored the handbook, IDEA As Amended in 2004 (Turnbull, Huerta and Stowe) and a special education textbook, Free Appropriate Public Education: Law and the Education of Children with Disabilities, (Turnbull, Stowe and Huerta).
