Founded by Alfonso Addis in 1967, Eurowines started life as a specialist importer of Sardinian wines. The business was managed by Alfonso until 1995 when his son, Leo, took over the general management after 5 years at Guinness. Leo has continued the family philosophy, which we extend to all our customers and suppliers. In December 2004 Nello Battistel purchased the shares of Alfonso Addis and is now an equal partner in the business. The day-to-day running of the business remains unaffected, although Nello is now jointly responsible for the future strategic management of Eurowines.
Through building long term relationships, we have focussed on importing and supplying wine from medium-sized, primarily family-run wineries with an emphasis on quality winemaking to the on and off trade and have seen significant growth in both sectors.
We held on to this philosophy whilst the business rapidly expanded to cover other areas of Italy and to other countries outside Italy during the nineties. Today, we are currently the exclusive importers of over 245 wines from 6 different nations: Australia, Chile, France, Italy, South Africa and USA.
